Kolhapur-based software engineer among Apple’s ‘Shot on iPhone’ photography challenge winners

Chougule Prajwal from Kolhapur, Maharashtra is among the ten Global Winners of Apple ‘Shot on iPhone’ macro photography. Global challenges were introduced for photography fans on January 25, 2022 and received entries until February 16, 2022.

Chougule joined nine other winners from countries including China, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Thailand and the US. 10 Winner photos, including Chougule will be displayed on Apple.com, in Apple Instagram (@Apple), and on billboards in certain cities around the world, including cities where winners come from.

“I am a nature and love lover who walked in the morning walking with my iPhone 13 Pro.” Gold Clock “brings the best from nature and is the excitement of the photographer,” Chougule said about his winning shot. “Dew falls on spider webs attracted my attention and I was fascinated by how silk spider was dry forming a necklace, where sparkling dews like pearls. It feels like artwork on the natural canvas,” he added.

“This image is perfect so it looks like an illustration. Drop dew arranged well on Spider-web captured with a very detail,” said the Apeksha Judge Maker said about the picture. “It is something that most people will miss around them.”

 

Apple’s shot on the iPhone challenge

Macro ‘Shot On iPhone’ Challenge requires a photographer to capture macro images using the Apple iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max and send the same to Apple.

The expert jury panel from Apple and the photography industry then selects the best photos from Lot. This includes Anand Varma, Apeksha Maker, Peter McKinnon, Paddy Chao, Yik Keat Lee, Arem Dupupessis, Billy Sorrentino, Della Huff, Kaiiann Drance and Pamela Chen.

This campaign also promotes a new Pro camera module in the iPhone 13 Pro series that allows users to get as close as 2 centimeters to the subject and use 1x and 0.5x framing to get wider macro shots when needed.
