Mark Zuckerberg announces WhatsApp Communities; file sharing and group call limits upped

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that “great evolution” WhatsApp is now in the testing phase. At the Facebook post, Zuckerberg announced that the company had begun to test the WhatsApp community, a new form of communication on the platform. While the WhatsApp group exceeded one-to-one message and brought several people together, the WhatsApp community would bring several groups under a single umbrella. These groups, with the same interests, will now be found under a tab such as chat, status and call. The company believes that this feature will not only be an important evolution for WhatsApp, but overall communication online.

“We build the WhatsApp community to make it easier to organize all your group chats and find information. You will be able to unite different groups into one community – for example, in addition to individual groups for different classes, you might have one of the overall communities for parents At school with a central place for announcements and tools for the admin, “said Zuckerberg. “This is probably a school community with chat where an important announcement for parents is shared and discussed, or the work community with chat to discuss various things with colleagues, or the environmental community to talk about what happens on your way or in your building,” he added .

Meta also seems to plan similar features for other social media applications as well. “We will build a community message feature for Messenger, Facebook and Instagram too. I am happy to see how this took place when we started testing whatsapp communities today and launched it over the coming months,” Zuckerberg said. With the group chat has several restrictions, it is clear that the company believes in community features is the future of online communication.
