Motorola Launches Another Mid-Range Phone You May Never Be Able To Buy

Motorola has been on a smartphone without stopping lately. Since the beginning of 2022, the company has doubled its efforts in an affordable smartphone room, with some interesting middle-class handsets brought to the market. Among the new devices launched in the previous months was the Moto G Stylus (2022), Moto G Power (2022), Moto G71 5G, Moto G51 5G, not to mention the affordable G22 motto. And by appearance, Lenovo’s smartphone brand has not been completed. Earlier this week, Motorola secretly launched a new middle class smartphone, Motorola G52 5G, in a particular market.

At the time of writing, the Moto G52 seems to be registered exclusively in the Netherlands. The company seems to have launched this device without too much fanfare, and which tends to be the case if a broader European launch occurs in the next few weeks. Before making an official appearance on the Dutch Motorola website, the last few weeks have seen several leaks around the Moto G52.

An upgraded Moto G51?

At first glance, the G52 motto seems to be the successor directly to the same MOTO G51 5G named Motorola launched in November 2021. This family relationship becomes clear when you compare the entire two device design language. Things that attract your attention include a triple rear camera array that is identical and blows the middle hole for selfie cameras.

The overall silhouette is almost identical too. Moto G52, in fact, brings the same rear camera hardware with the G51 – which includes a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a small change in the front camera sensor, with the Moto G51 get a 13MP camera on the global version (there is a Chinese special variant that gets a 16MP camera), while the newer model has a higher resolution of the 16MP Shooter’s front.

With a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel, the Moto G51 is a cellphone that is much larger than the Moto G52, which is obtained with a 6.6-inch LCD panel. G51 also supports 120Hz refresh speed, which slows down to 90Hz which is still honored at G52 5G. As expected, the G52 rates are better on the processor front, with the device to get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset which is quite strong, compared to the Snapdragon 480 SOC on G51 5G. The G52 seems to be available in one variant sent by 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. And yes, the phone does offer a microSD card slot for memory expansion. G51 also comes in one 4GB / 64GB option, which we found a little on the bottom.

Battery, pricing, and availability

Even with a larger size, the Moto G51 does not get the advantages of battery size, and both devices get 5,000 mAh cells with the same size. There is a slight change at the maximum supported cable charging speed, also: Moto G52 support features for charging 30W, and the Moto G51 displays fast charging 20W. Both devices are also sport fingerprint scanners installed on the side. And don’t let us forget, the G52 has the advantage of running a newer OS (Android 12) instead of Android 11 found in G51. With that, G51 does have a major advantage over the G52. The former rebellion itself as a 5G ready-to-mind device that supports up to 11 5G bands. Moto G52 does not have a 5G modem and only supports LTE and 3G networks.

As explained earlier, Moto G52 – at least for now – seems to be heading towards the Netherlands. The availability of European and Asian wider must be on the card. As for the Moto G51, it was only launched on a particular Asian market, including India, and brought the estimated price tag of RS 13,999 (around $ 180) for a single 4GB / 64GB option. With Motorola has no history of bringing people like Moto G51 and G71 to the US, there are very few G52 opportunities that make it to the market, too.
